The Master Mechanic

I visit the Master Mechanic
Whenever my life runs rough.
He likes to change my oil
Replacing all that yucky stuff.
Sometimes, He adds a little spark
Giving my engine some new plugs
By bringing friends into my life
Who give smiles and loving hugs.

I visit the Master Mechanic
And He puts my life in gear
Adjusting my timing
While my driving problems steer.
Oh, how my revving pistons hum
When my engine is balanced right.
With a mixture of word and prayer,
His head light's shining bright.

I visit the Master Mechanic
As we roll out on the road.
He smiles in agreement,
"You can haul a heavy load.
Flash your lights and honk your horn,
All your gauges are working fine...
You're back on the high way again
Now that your life is mine."

This was a really GREAT poem!  It reminds me of "The Parable of the Car", in the back of Niel Anderson's book "Know Light No Fear".  I think that the Master Mechanic is the one person that we always forget to pay a visit to.

fractal007,

...and you know what else?  When we do visit the Master Mechanic, all His sevices are free... He doesn't charge us a thing.  Now, that IS a good deal!

Sunshine,

Yep, the Christianapolis 500! (Hehe)

Love it!  Reading this I'm thinking no one would expect the best mechanic to repair thier car if they didn't  take it to him, yet I've been guilty of not taking my problem to THE MASTER MECHANIC yet wondering why He doesn't help me get in good running order. Thanks for sharing this one, too.

All it takes is making that trip to the garage and wanting to get that tune-up.  Wonderfully presented and so full of wisdom.  I believe that you have already earned that checkered flag with this one.  God bless and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Bob,
You have a wonderful presentation here-
Masterfully weaving the theme of Divine Helpfulness with the scenario of an Auto mechanic.  You are quite adept to vivid
illustration and background which help make your poems come alive!
Happy New Year to you, my friend,
