Turkey Dinner

As from pilgrimage on Mayflower,
weary and hungry voyagers exclaim,
"We bless this home and turkey...
in the precious Jesus name!"

Like savages on an eating warpath,
arms in onward, destined,  flurry surge,
"Now, give me a portion of everything
to satisfy this urge!"

Baby's crying--  and turkey's flying
across the table from plate to plate,
"God, this food is wonderful
and aint our Jesus great!"

After double helpings two and three,
plates filled with food up to the max,
"Now, how's about some pumpkin pie?
I can loosen up my slacks!"

When an approving belch rumbles out,
the whole clan smiles to agree,
"There just aint no better time than this
spent with friends and family!"

"Happy Thanksgiving!"

Marcy,

Thank you.  Thanksgiving is a time of the year when we can kick off our shoes and let our hair down and be who we are, just ourselves, in front of our closest friends and family... You are my "Spiritual Journeys" family and I am glad that you felt right at home with this poem as I do.  God Bless You, Bob <><

Deb,

Thanks, this is a wonderful time and I didn't even tell ya about how we all fall asleep during the football game!  Bob <><

White Dove,

Do you think we might overdo it a little?

...Nah.  Thanksgiving only comes once a year in the secular world.  God Bless You, Bob <><
