In Troubled Times

In troubled times we bear alone the burden of our time
For no one else can feel the pain or taste the bitter wine
And so I look up to the heights
For help and guidance through the nights

There’s nothing that dilutes the chalice filled with sorrow’s sup
Except allowing time to slow evaporate the cup
And only God can clarify
The mist within the tearful eye

What’s left then is a tarnished stain that never disappears
But room enough to fill the cup with joy throughout the years
Happiness abides within
My chalice stained, but filled to brim

Liz you're looking in the right direction, that's UP.

Oh how this touches me. I know burdens get heavy, and pain can overwhelm us, and it's hard to see through the tears. It is when we're past it, that we can look back and know He carried us through.

HUGz to you!! God bless you always Liz!

Liz, My prayers are with you and your family. (I read your poem in Open#10)

"In Troubled Times" speaks the very depths of pain felt, when we lose a loved one. The chalice is a perfect way to illustrate, with time we start to heal. So glad your finding strength in Jesus. I believe in miracles, I am writing proof as I stared death square in the face. Miracles come in different packages and know you are in my prayers.
Love, Marcy

Dear Liz; I hear your pain and I rejoice that in the midst of it you see hope. May our Lord continue to comfort you now and give you Graces of Hope in these terrible times.

Oh Liz this is filled with such pain. And you are so right to look at Him. He has all the answers. There are soooooo many things that I just don't get but I do know He's a good God. Keep looking to Him.
Love & hugs,
Juls

Now that I read this again, I see it in a different light. When we're in pain, people can sympthasize, but they sure don't know just where we're at, BUT God surely does.

He is the only one who truly knows our pain.

Even more beauty the second time around.

God bless you at this time and may the chalice you speak of be held by loving hands waiting to sup with you once again.

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.
