Perhaps my name shall never be
Ranked with the greats in history;

Perhaps great wealth I shall not gain
My lips kissed not by fine champaign;

Perhaps deep thoughts I shall not think
Nor save the world from peril’s brink;

Perhaps diseases I can’t cure
Nor plan devise to end all war;

A purpose, though, was given me;
A grand design – my destiny;

A noble call – make no mistake;
A contribution I shall make;

‘Till breath of life’s no longer mine
My soul shall sing His love divine;

This vessel crafted for His use
Shall ever share such love profuse.

The only fame you need is in St. Peter's journal of all the souls and hearts you touch here on earth as you love and reach out to your fellow man in the name of Christ.  Lovely write.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Denise, This is so beautiful. Your love and faithfulness to God really shines through in this piece. You are such a gifted poetess. Often times I have read your words to think, "if only I could express like that". I love the humility within your words and may your words speak for me too.  Lovely in every way.  Marcy

This poem is right on!  When Mother Teresa received her Nobel Prize, she was asked, "what can we do to promote world peace? and she relied, "Go home and love your family."  Something so simple but some people find hard to do.

What higher calling could one have than the honor of serving our Almighty Father?  You've said it so well, and that you consider it an honor is obvious in all your work.  Thank you for this and all the spirit filled poem you share.  Rae

Thanks, Marge, Bob and Bonnie for reading and for your wonderful comments! Yep, that's Christian, my grandson! He is precious, isn't he? Next I'll have to get a picture with my granddaughter, Nicole, in it too and try to squeeze all three of us into that little space.....LOL

Bigger and cuter every day! And he's such a sweet little love! I'm glad I brightened your night! And You need another job, and quick...14 hours a day, six days a week, is inhuman, to say the least. I don't think this is the job for you. Get that newspaper out!
