Compared I'm but a tiny grain of sand I'm nothing but smallness in this land Taking a part in the greatness you've planned A grain of sand that's washed upon the sea Lord what is it that you're mindful of me A life that is filled with so much debris You're living water is what sets me free Your power is so awesome to behold You have the entire world controlled I am but one sheep within your fold Though I am nothing, I'm counted as gold I am but one tiny grain of sand Here within the vastness of your land Incomprehensible it's more than grand As I walk with you and You take my hand <*\\\>< I know not what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future. |

WOW, Becky, This is so perfectly written in rhyme and in meter, most of all the message flows through my heart and makes it sing praise to His Glory! Love, Ellie Summers haunting melody that awakens the butterflies, calling them to join the dance in their silent song of praise to God. eL |

White Dove, This is beautiful!! What a special message . . . no matter how small we think we are in this world, He will always find us when we need Him. Awesome!! Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Ellie, thank you for such a wonderful comment. A few lines were popping in my head as I was trying to go to sleep, and I knew I had to finally get up and write them down. Sharon thanks for taking the time! LOL Mom! I had a feeling you were going to think that. hahaha What was in my mind is just how BIG, and how far stretched the vastness of God and what he controls, compared to lil ol me. I am like a tiny grain of sand compared to the rest. Thank you. Thank you for reading Marge. I'm glad you liked it! LWolf, thank you so much. He is always there when we need him, even if we don't see it. <*\\\>< I know not what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future. |

a good exploration of the paradox of psalm 8: "when i consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars, which your hand has made, what is man that you are mindful of him, or the son of man that you consider him?" we are nothing, and yet are everything |

Now, this title seems very familiar? God certainly finds favor in the simple things. We are all like grains of sand according to God's reference of sand to Abraham stating that Abraham's children would be in number as the sand... Though we are great in number, God knows each one of us intimately and this realization is beyond my words or understanding... Thank you for sharing and God Bless You, Bob <>< |

Deb thank you! I don't know any one who does that kind of thing, but as long as it's singing in your heart, that's good enough for me. Thank you CitizenOne! LOL thanks much Bonnie! Thank you Marcy, I truly appreciate that! Winnifer I didn't even think of that one. I was watching the Jesus movie, which I didn't agree with much at all, or should I say at all the way they portrayed him. Actually I've rented it twice, and still haven't made it through the first part. As I was laying in bed, I guess once again I was brought to realize His greatness, and compared to that, just how little I really am. Humbling experience it was. Thank you! Yes indeed Denise. Thank you m'friend! Hugs Bob does it? Have something to do with my Mom or what? Or a poem someone else wrote? I do recall another poem with Sand in the title It is beyond my understanding as well, but He is Awesome! Thanks Bob! Mark thank you! Never seems the thoughts come across, but it was truly a humbling experience. |

She was and her Mom is proof of that pudding! Sandgrain, is just an older version of this sweet soul, and she also graces this site. I think of Rebecca often as I talk with Rae, and the absolute faith and honor she showed during her passage. She will always be a beacon for me, and I am sure others. I loved her saying, "I wish we would just label jars and not people!" I borrow that one often too. Thanks Maureen for bringing this back for us. |
