What Hill Are These

What hills are these that I must Climb
Lord, I ask for a flat land
where I could see the sunrise over the horizon
and be content to see the break of day.

... Oh foolish child, who can not see
... beyond their faltered footprint, look
... up and understand the reason why.
... Beyond you are the mountains where
... there is no morning sunrise. These
... foothills are where you will learn to climb.

What hills are these that I must trod?
Lord, mist obscures my vision.
Where can I go to see beyond their vista of tomorrow
and be content to see across the haze?

... Oh foolish man who can not see
... beyond what lies before you. Look up
... and understand with open eyes. You ask
... to see the sunrise comming over the
... horizon. Climb on I'll give you endless
... earth and skies.

Lord, bless the hills that brought me here
to climb the higest mountain, where I now feel
it's peace within my soul. I saw a
glimpse of daybreak on eternities horizon
and understood why hills were not my goal.

Yesterday is history,
tomorrow just a mystery.
And if today is good to me,
it will beat the heck out of day before yesterday!

Ohme thank you so much for sharing your work with us in Spiritual!!!

This was amazing! So true to how "man" is. We whine and complain and just can't see beyond.
I guess that is a big thing to be thankful for though. For if we knew the things we had to endure would we actually do them? I tend to doubt that. So I'm thankful He only gives us the little bit that He does. It's when we finally get over those hills, or mountains that we see. And are thankful!!!

I really LOVED THIS! Thank you!!!

OhMe - This is a beautiful affirmation of His promise of strength.

This day, He gave me a mountain ...
I love the climbing of the mountains that He has set before me. For in the climbing, I am called on to renew my strength. He is the guide on my climb.

There comes a reason in our lives when we must reflect upon the plateaus we have climbed and thus contemplating these achievements, decide if we are grateful with the outcome! If we are not, we should know that the Lord was not there guiding us on our climb! Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece with us! Amen!

Thanks everyone. The view of a sunrise from a mountain top is truly magnificent. But the reward does not come easy. You must first climb over all the obsticles that are in the way. From the flatland the tasks can appear to great an effort. From the mountain top you wonder why you were so foolish down below!
