How precious the little angel
That waits outside for me,
Downy, delicate feathers,
On wings that are so wee.
Chestnut curls surround her face,
Her eyes an emerald green,
Dimples in her chubby cheeks,
A rosebud mouth, serene.
Her peaches and cream complexion,
Matches her little robe,
In her hands she's holding,
A mystical looking globe.
She beckons me to come closer,
And take a little peek,
What I saw in that mirrored ball,
Made my legs feel weak.
I saw a scene with Our Father,
Sitting in a heavenly glade,
Surrounded by little children,
Explaining the beauty He's made.
First a lop-eared bunny,
Then a pure white baby dove,
A mother deer with two little fawns,
All created with His love.
He pointed out the sunshine,
The flowers, grass and trees,
He even told them all the whys,
Of butterflies and bees.
I heard the daintiest giggle,
And saw the cherub's smile,
As she revealed the secrets,
That make this life worthwhile.
