I was talking with someone very precious to me earlier on tonight
A 'dear' friend of theirs had died and he had written down his thoughts
sent me a copy and I said "post it" he said no, no style, wasn't right
to me it is not whether it rhymes but the fact he himself was distraught

If we get to the stage where poems would have to be grammatically correct
and no account is taken of emotion and a heart that cries for those we lose
I would never want to write again because to me no soul should be unchecked
to write what's in your heart, to know the pain of loss will always leave a bruise

we come here and we share and some, the very lucky, write with sheer perfection
but I'm not one and nor is he, I write what's in my mind often with a pen full of tears
strange how we end up thinking "we" or "our" thoughts won't find any connection
I tried to say the poem was him, all heart "we" would know his loss and lent an ear

Just a thought from me

I have a copy and I'm itching to post it for him, I've never known him write a poem before

Elizabeth: Thank you for understanding..:-)

HUGS

Bal: Never, ever, dare a rainbow with a heart....she will always rise to the occasion..:-) and this means way too much to me..not to mention setting fire to my hair, heck, it took me ages to grow it this long..:-)

HUSG

Marilyn: I will, but I'm not sure if he will forgive me but his heart is one we will all recognise as our own..

I have no rights whatsoever to post this but I believe in hearts and loss and the emotions that loss gives us..

When I heard the little bell
Telling me "you've got mail"
I went to my computer
Trying to guess who could be the writer
The title made me shiver
Two words, meaning so much
With each line my heart sank deeper
Last week you were killed in some car accident
And your wife is gone with you
We went to the same school
We played in the same team
We were crazy enough to organise a 25 hours race
And we were the first to be surprised by our success
I wish I could have known
I wish we would have talked
And now the only thing I can do
is cry and pray for your 4 children

We will miss you Henri

If I could have set this to music, I would have chosen Pie Jesu by Sarah Brightman and Paul Kingston...

This is indeed poetry. Words from the soul - that is what poetry is to me. I've often said I don't care for the 'form' of poetry, iambic pentameter and all that. I feel poetry.

This poem has left two streams of tears running down my cheeks. Tears for your friend, for his friends and their children.

I hope no one is ever afraid to post a poem here for fear that it won't fit into a mold - poetry is not molded, it is felt.

I feel this.

I'm sure that your friend will appreciate your sentiments and your motivation. Writing is, indeed, an emotional venture... and this work certainly is just that... My prayers are with your friends, RG

Bless you all..:-)))

If you could know the trepadition in my heart at having posted this without the writer's permission but knowing the love within his heart....how does one win over the heart from what the mind says is right or wrong....

I just thought this spoke so much from the heart!

I'm actually at a loss to say what I think, apart from bless you and HUGS

May we all feel free to express our hearts with love, share our memories and do so in a kind, loving, respectful way!
