Were , I would , there was more time That scant commodity To give more thought to every rhyme A a little more of me And in so doing gain as well From earnest effort spent As much more enjoyment As time allowed has sent If such could be unmeasured There is much which we could learn Undiscovered treasures Inner fires that still burn But lo the hands that rule the pen Are merciless and quick And our thoughts are meted out by those Who's movements clockwise tick The face that stares from written words Oft' times is not our own But that which rules each one of us And controls what can be shown So we cherish stolen moments Writing furtively Ignoring barbs and torments And looking inward see The clockface mocks our efforts Putting limits on our prose And in time we come to realize Yes , we're one of those ------------------ Sometimes nonsense isn't . |

Hey, Doc - If you can steal a moment to write it, I can steal one to tell you I enjoyed reading it... |

Time is such a fickle thing, too long, too short, not enough and too often precious moments pass without time for appreciation. I'm glad you found the time to write this poem that I appreciate. |
