Sand in my eyes You have showered me with roses petals And have even picked away the nettles. How in heavens name can I brew, A bouquet as clever as you. You made me sigh you made me cry I even heard a laugh go bye. I cannot top your elegance Not even if I were a prince. Some you said not true you know But even if it were quite so I think myself a simple man. That is as much as I can. I would not take away carefree Nor would I thwart your flights of free. And I will not tell you what you ought, God forbid and perish the thought. I see a twinkle in your eye. I feel your mind in quick reply. I do not question your beliefs, Nor will I delve into your grief. My one prescribe each day with jam, You tell me just how grand I am. |

Sy, You're misinterpreting my verse Reading skills you should rehearse You're reading 'tween the lines again And putting words into my pen My little quip was meant to be Of you and Balladeer but not of me A she devil? For goodness sake! I'd never recognize a snake Nor even devil in disguise If I looked him in the eyes But both of you were quick to say You recognized each other right away And so again this claim I make A snake well knows another snake [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 11-25-1999).] |

Elizabeth, Been eating turkey to much to fast, I cannot think a line to cast. I always read between the lines That's where the gold is that I mine. |

All this talk of snakes and devils Leads my pen to thoughts disheveled Between the lines is where there's light Or didn't I even have this right ? |

Dr moose1, That's right, that's right Between the lines shines the light It's there the gold lay that we mine. It's there the symbles interline. |
