I wrote a letter to myself the other day
Asked myself the questions to anyone else, I couldn't say
And whispered between the lines my inner secerets

I wrote a letter three pages long
About my life and how it's turning out wrong
But never meant to say all that was written in my head

I wrote a letter the other day to me
And addressed it, Dear self, I'm in agony
Please help me if you can

A trip down memory lane took place
And I knew as I wrote, tears streamed down my face
As result my hand started to shake

The pen wasn't fast enough
For my thoughts, a draft that was still ruough
So I had to just write as they came

I wrote myself a letter the other day
Wrote 'till my hand was as coarse as hard clay
I enclosed it in an envelope
Faster than you can blink
For the letter must be done I knew, when I ran out of ink.

Great poem, Joy. I hate running out of ink, hope you get a new pen fast. Maybe with happy ink this time...

Oh yes, writing a definately a gift, especially when you can "unload" all your feelings, even if you're the only one to read them, it still helps to vent on paper. Have done that a thousand times myself. I'm glad you can too! Thanks for sharing!

Joy-
I completely know what you mean. I do this all the time, except I think everything out instead of write it. Mybe you should try that next time- it saves paper, not to mention trees, and then you won't run out of ink! Just an idea. Anyway, when you said the tears started sreaming doen your face- that happened to me too, the first time that I ever wrote a song. It's an awsome feeling that you get, isn't it?

I've done this so often myself. Writing lets out what I just know I can't or shouldn't keep inside any longer. Isn't it just a wonderful way to vent? Yes, the tears do come, but that also means that they are getting out of your body, which is usually a much needed event. Well, I loved it, I felt like I could have written this myself. Thanks...

Talking to myself - my favorite pastime... keeps me (relatively) sane...
