Procrastination Queen Living daily in a world of time Losing sight of what should be mine, Keeping track of minute minutes by the score Seemingly all involved forevermore. And here in the autumn of my days Reflection of life comes in many ways; For some, a pool of water to so reflect, For some, a mirror, and their own hallowed respect. For me, I would be a Procrastination Queen When harking back upon my dreams, For my childhood’s spring went much too fast, And young adult’s summer has shadows cast. So I will be the Procrastination Queen In my autumn years, that I may be serene And spend my time enjoying my leisure For I’ve spent years in founding my treasure. Not that I do not ever want to see A winter’s day becoming to me But that autumn’s life should be prolonged For it’s then that we are most strong. For this is the time for which we’ve strived It should be good to acknowledge our lives, To be so glad of what we’ve been graced, Our face whose history is traced with lace. So I will be my own Procrastination’s Queen And put off for today what does not seem To be of import to someone else’s plan But instead, take my life in my own hands. 24 November, 1999 ©KRJ ------------------ Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

I can see how your life has been unfolding in your lines. Take your life in your own hands. I agree. Beautiful ending, I also think! |
