I sat upon the shore one day And gazed upon my child at play I called to her ‘I love you best!’ To which she called to me in jest ‘Much better than the very best?’ ‘Ah yes!’ I said most graciously ‘You think…’ she queried patiently ‘my little sister is the worst?’ Saddened eyes, and lips tightly pursed ‘NO, my dear!’… ‘You’re my favorite first’ |
