To Elizabeth You have touched my heart through your mind. You are truly that one of a kind. Like the poem, I wonder who you are? Your rhyming words out shine most star. Since I cannot stop the press of time I confess I'm four times past my prime. And I must be bold and say my say, That I am no Amen-Ra of today. The words you string from head to toe, Are all of you I really know. Like a bird I rest your feathered nest Of the storms my life have compressed. But the sounds I hear of distant storm Have plagued my heart of sheltered warm. And your need for rest has brought much fear, This charmed one, that is not so near. I pray you rest the rest that's due. And come back to me in bright and new. Your fantasia has flavored a fantasy. And I pray my poems did the same for thee. My soul gives you an open door. Please enter it and say no more. |

A beautiful tribute and timely offering... ------------------ Once I was brilliant, now I no longer shine, but the twinkle in my eye speaks of another time. |

Four times his prime, the poet cries Suppose his prime were thirty-five Defying nature, sense, and time While I, my friend, am in my prime |
