Lit by setting sun’s orange glow Her sundry stories form peaks French Vanilla ice cream cone Lacking contrast Reflecting warm hues Like a snow castle Or a peach parfait Resting on an alluvial fan Bounded by modern ugliness Testament to gentility End of an endless crazy day, Driving past, slow parade of cars Daydreams delving to romance Gorging on gourmand fodder Crisp chilled wine waiting In our charming chambers Lilacs in a country vase Delightful discoveries develop Unfurling fabrics fall You, a present of pleasure What surprises life bestows Friends for forever Now new-found lovers Singularly strange Familiar yet unnamed Wholly sincere, clear Preordained perhaps Celestial heavens joyously Sprinkled enchantment Stardust of gazingstock Daybreak dawns Sapphire sagacity We may have always known But time finally lifted us To parallel planes (c) 1999 Corinne Bailey |

Thank you! You are all so supportive and inspiring! This is, in my opinion, the best place to post one's poetry on the Net! Corinne |
