EXQUISITE GIFT He wakens me in darkened room In halo's corner sings a tune A splendid loving melody Of twinkling crests on rippled sea And patiently he waits his turn No hurried step, no timely yearn No lighted candle does he burn So patiently he waits his turn Then gracefully he comes to me No vision of his face I see And know not I who he may be Though try I may, I cannot see But knowing that he bears a gift My vacant spirit to uplift His presence welcomed openly I wait my turn as patiently Then in the halo lighted room He comes to me and fills my womb Exquisite spirit, meek and mild Exquisite gift - my future child Elizabeth Santos 11/20/99 |

Elizabeth, Your poetry has overflowed The hollow of my beggers bowl. And I'm so filled with pleasantry You have me down upon one knee. Excellent poem. [This message has been edited by Seymour Tabin (edited 11-20-1999).] |

Elizabeth ... this is as exquisite as the birth of that child. Simply loving ... simply Mom. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Elisabeth, I dare to say... But wait! I find to my dismay.. A loss for words, to laud, describe This sweet maternal diatribe- And yet my thoughts are running rife, About that One who giveth life, And be it daughter, mayhap son- On poem, and offspring...Girl, well done! ------------------ Live large, people! ~GS~ http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/HomePage.html |

Sy, Your beggar's bowl is full of tears From windswept sands and unknown fears A poet kneels beside the sea Must brush the sands from off his knee Is I who am on bended knee And marvel at your epopee With little poems I do rehearse While learning words and rhyming verse Elizabeth |

Baladeer and Ruth, You make my heart skip a beat, Thank you Gunslinger, Of all the poets, you are one Who knows the truth of songs I've sung And knows that life did true appear Before the mother shed a tear Before the wisest man of all Could sure detect the cradles wall And say for sure through testing done That life itself had now begun For each and every poem I write Has been engraved by truth and light The poems' stories you behold Happened just as they were told Imagination I have none As it was told, the deed was done Elizabeth |
