My mood; my ship of passage, My sail; divinely possessed, inspired, even. To the sun, I may be mad- to the moon, I am genius, counting the tardy pace of lingering moments by the repercussions of anguish. My feelings; pitiable- I struggle in vain against the influence of melancholy. There is longing that tears my heart by the roots. There is a dreadful sense of solitude and agony that thrill through my cold, cold blood. I have been raped of my powers- all but one- that is to suffer. I lay groaning in agony, with outstretched arms. My thoughts are loose, like dry sand, falling through my fingers upon being grasped. I am little more than a statue and then come the violent, tidal waves of blood and breathlessness that invade my very demeanor. Maddening dreams trouble my sleep- I am awakened by the voices that call out my name. I cannot muster any amount of resistance. I enter in to realization with lies that kiss my lips, finding that my soul lives this listless life, hating the day for its unbearable length and hating the night for leading into the day. Yet, like a catharsis, each nightmarish horror or absurdity enables me to better meet a waiting morning, in an undernourished and inhuman sort of way. Plainly, a bleak weariness of life- I stay because my body lacks the strength to go. And I wear the look of a balanced thinker, though I am far from a picture of sanity. So it is that I trod on, my spirit somber and dim, casting shadows over the images of things and forming a dark tide. My spirits seethe in perpetual ferment, eroded and consumed without fever, and send out their heat. My power is more evident in the landscapes of imagination- that fire where both smoke and flame are united. Erin, where HAVE you been? You are sorely missed here. This poem is extremely well written and I hope it is not an accurate depiction of your feelings. If so, you have my hopes for reversal. Welcome back ....and please stay. |

All of you here at Passions are all such wonderful people! Thank you for all these fabulous replies.... I am going to post some information about where I have been shortly, so if you want to know, keep an eye out for it! I'm not quite back home yet, but I get to visit from time to time.
