Please help me find words of caring not scolding
When my hours are limited for love and holding
Please help me see she doesn’t know why
Mommy’s too rushed to teach her to tie
Please let me remember she’s only young once
And not answer her plees with groans and grunts
Please help me find the strength in the day
To not quickly scold her to get out of my way
Please give me the strength the wrestle and laugh
When hurrying her through a three minute bath
Please let my words not sound angry or mad
When she has done something not so bad
Please help me remember to count with her sheep
When she is too restless to fall right to sleep
Please never let me forget she’s a gift from above
Sent here to me forever to love.

I think this should hang in every house with children. Excellent!

Ohh a beautiful piece! As a single mother of 3 I relate to this piece. Only have one thing to add.

Please let me forget the house is a mess,
There are dishes to do, laundry til christmas.
My time is much needed for children so small.
For the years pass by like nothing at all.

My hope is that I remember these words all the time, at the end of those long and tiring days, the reasons to keep smiling and laughing in a world sometimes gone wrong is because of these beautiful children who make every day a little more special for us...the greatest gift in life is to be a parent, the truest love in the world is that of a child.
