Would it matter if I told you, That my love has finally died? That at last I have succeeeded- After many times I’ve tried. In putting down the feelings I’ve so long displayed toward you- Would it matter if I told you- Even if it isn’t true? Would it stir your heart to anger If I found me someone knew,,, And said and did the things for her- I used to do for you? Like take her out to dinner- Even though I’ve very tired... And try my best to give her, All the things that she desired? Would it matter if I called you, Just to talk for one last time.. And read the last few love songs- That I wrote to you in rhyme? And to say, “Farewell, my darling I just called to say goodbye”... I agree with Andrew...the ones I have truely loved in my life I still love. Even the ones I have had to let go of. I think it does matter, as long as it is the truth. |
