Seventeen and still your child you loved to watch me play and though it but a fantasy I like it just that way With Christmas comes your memories of little lit up eyes each present brought your held back smile you treasured my surprise but time is most itself when passing Christmas mornings not the same I know you wish of days forgotten back when life was just a game you pester me to make a list you wish Id ask for simple toys but age and tastes have changed since then no longer I’m a little boy CD’s, and clothes, you humor me sometimes you sneak a GI Joe we have a laugh, share a smile I know what your wishing though its good to hold on to your past memories can bring us joy but know that gifts are simply gifts and ill always be your little boy. |

Very true! And no matter how old you get you'll still be her little boy! Very nice sentiments, Kevin. ------------------ Denise |

this is about my mother but no time in the poem does it specify a gender, isnt it interesting that you could easily tell that without sex specification? |

Yep, you're right, Kevin, you didn't mention a gender. As Marge said Moms are just like that yeah, we are and we can spot ourselves a million miles away! And of course there was that little clue about all that Christmas shopping! I don't know about anyone else here, but out of all my family and all my friends and all my co-workers and all my acquaintenances (in a two-parent household, I mean) It's the moms who do ALL the shopping for everybody in the family and Dad does the shopping for Mom! (hehehehehehe) And then of course in the single parent homes the shopping and everything else falls on the single parent (not easy, I was there for a bit) Again, Kevin, Very nice poem! ------------------ Denise [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 11-16-1999).] |
