Edge of Eden

Nothing around for miles,
just us in the Carolina forest.
We take a tour of the local waterfalls,
6 in one afternoon,
kissing our way through them all.
Posing for a picture at Whitewater Falls,
English tourists snap the photo.
If they only knew the scene they missed
at the bottom of the river.
I feed you grapes as we pass
Bridal Veil Falls,
A small outpouring of water
from the rocks along the road.
My fingers caress your lips
as I slide the fruit into the mouth
that has so recently pleasured me.
Standing behind Dry Falls,
cold spray misting around us,
we kiss as people pass by.
You carve my name into a bench,
a reminder that we have been there.
Calisajaw Falls has you sprinting
over the rocks, me at your heels.
You take pictures,
reminders of our perfect day.
You hold my hand as you help me over the rocks,
sneaking in a kiss here and there.
A picture perfect pond,
feeding into a manmade waterfall.
A lone swan glides across the water,
her elegant silhouette a thing of beauty.
We sit on the edge of Eden
kissing, touching, watching
as the swan swims near.
Atop Glen Falls, alone.
You follow me up the rocks
where we kiss some more.
Our talk turns serious:
you’re delving into my psyche,
gaining insight to my soul.
We hold each other
in the dwindling daylight.
You want to get naked again,
take me there,
as you did at the first waterfall.
But night is falling
and so is my heart.
Staying in the woods
could be dangerous.

Thanks everyone! Directions? Go straight into their heart, keep going, even when you reach that point where you're scared to go on. Once you've reach the Point of No Return, you'll know you've made it!
