Memories of the Past

As I look through pictures
of times spent with friends
I can remember exact words
that have been spoken.

I reminisce through old memories
when friends were top priority.
I remember the laughs and
all the fun times shared.

I take a long look in the mirror
and realize the changes.
I remember who I used to be
and see what time has done.

I glance at my former friends
and wonder why we drifted apart.
I remember our vows to always
be best friends, no matter what.

I search through old love letters,
and can't handle the reality.
I remember when I had only one
lover, now that number has grown.

I see how time has changed us all,
and wish innocent days could return.
I remember when we weren't so corrupt,
and we loved each other dearly.

Wow! Times sure do change don't they? Memories, however, don't have to, and that's why many hold on to them for as long as they can. I know I do. Enjoyed the poem.

Memories are one of the greatest treasures we have. That is one of the places where we can toss out the unwanted and hold on to
the treasures.

Beautiful..your words are so true, Lynn. Even at my young age I realize that times do change. Wonderful work.

Joy 14...Thank you. Times do change
and at times I wish they didn't, but
I have learned many things from the
changes in my life.

Ohme...I agree.

RG...It's weird how sometimes you
can be thinking just about the same
thing as someone else. Like they
same, "Great minds think alike."

Alwye...Yeah, young age. I'll soon
turn 16 and way too many changes
have already occured over the past
year or so.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Thanks denise. I agree. Some memories I hold very dear to me, and some I wish I could get rid of. But with out most of the sad memories, there wouldn't be the happy one's. Thanks Again.
