LONG SILENCES I'm clinging to the words you said, But, truly, I would be lying (As I lie here alone in this bed), If I said I was not dying. You've promised me a love so true, In that, I have no doubt. But another night without word from you Has left me down, if not out. Do you know how much how I miss you? Do you understand this pain? The sun it shines, the sky is blue, But all I see is rain. I wipe the tear from my cheek, But still feel my heart fall. I'm trying to be strong, But God, I'm weak, Are you coming back at all? The phone rings and emotion soars, New hope dares to stand true. Ex's, doctors, solicitors, Yeah, everyone but you. These long silences are killing me, God, I need to hear your voice. Another night alone in misery, Do I really have a choice? ------------------ Michael Anderson And so, being young and dipt in folly I fell in love with melancholy, But dreams - of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned, and die: EAP [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 11-15-1999).] |

Michael: Hang in there sweetheart and know there are many who feel something close to your pain... Big hugs sweetheart ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. |

A tribute to what you feel...I miss her too but obviously not nearly in the same way. Godspeed her return and your mutual happiness, my friend. ------------------ Once I was brilliant, now I no longer shine, but the twinkle in my eye speaks of another time. |

I understand your pain, Michael. Sometimes I go days without hearing from my love, too. |

Wish my silences had been but days, not years. When you see her face it will be as though she hadn't been gone at all! Have a patient heart. Elizabeth |

Michael, even sad poems can be beautiful. This one is! ------------------ Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more? |

Michael - never fear, it won't be long for you now. Have to agree with Marilyn - sweet music indeed. |

I hate the silence, especially the silence in waiting for a call.... Well done, and **hugs** to you... ------------------ Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices. |

Michael, I'm reminded of Rod McKuen's line: 'Come to me in silence' Your sentiments are haunting. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] [This message has been edited by Marge Tindal (edited 11-15-1999).] |

Your poem is full of honest emtion, expressed so well. Time is such a traitor sometimes. It pulls waiting into what seems like infinity and then you wonder, why can't the good times go slow. Hang in there. |

** Sigh ** I just got back home...everyone knew I would be gone quite some time, to sort through my heart....I am here. I just wish someone would believe in me when I'm away.... Beautiful poem, but yes, ouch...as someone else had said. ------------------ ~~ Lift your head high - spread your "words" and fly - - poetFemmeFatale |
