To Tell the Truth To tell the truth, Sometimes the truth Can be disguised With little lies A little wink A casual shrug The truth just brushed Beneath the rug Instead of truth You choose to share Some sly deception Here and there A clever whim A beaming grin Meant to hide The pain inside And carried there For years and years Until one day The truth appears And you awake To a surprise A mass of little Little lies But now the task Is to unmask To all around The truth you found Unspinning tales Unweaving webs Un-misleading Those mislead Unconversing Conversations Undenying Accusations Years of hiding To be vented So much truth Misrepresented Disconcerting Quite allerting Quite distubing Quite pertubing Quite confusing This diffusing Unravelling lies You told in youth Is quite the pits, To tell the truth Elizabeth Santos !!/14/99 |
