It was such a sweet caress on that weary dreary day longing for my bonnie lass solemn grief ate me away On that weary dreary day Death came passing by my door solemn grief ate me away heartache mine forever more Death came passing by my door looking at my soppy eyes heartache mine forever more bonnie lass she just had died looking at my soppy eyes feeling sorry in a way bonnie lass she just had died said "this is your lucky day" feeling sorry in a way her kiss cold yet sweet to me said "this is your lucky day, your sweet bonnie lass you’ll see" her kiss cold yet sweet to me longing for my bonnie lass "your sweet bonnie lass you’ll see" it was such a sweet caress |
