Me 'n' Johnny McB by © Richard J. Budig 1997 Well I was turnin' tricks T' keep m'self together In a West Texas motel By th' name o' Red Leather 'long come a fella Knockin' at m' door Sayin' girly I need somethin' Y'know, what'em cats fight for I love this business I says with a smile I got it, I sell it, I still got it So c'min fer awhile Well I 'preciate it darlin' I'm a trucker, Says he Got me an 18-wheeler An' m' name's Johnny McB Well I gave that trucker A hell of a ride ‘til he says to me Will ya be m' bride Oh Johnny, m' Johnny Y'r m' dream come true I’ll ride outta town In ‘at big ol' truck with you But I gotta warn ya I'm a booze-lovin' girl An' I'll break your heart for a gallon o' Pink Swirl Well I liked the sauce And he liked me So off we go Me 'n' Johnny McB An' it wasn't long After we's on th' road I needed m' friend M' bottle o' Old Toad So we rolled along Truckin and boozin' An' ever' so often We did some shmoozin But mostly I's in a fog In the back o' the sleeper Doin' tricks in my mind To the drone of the reefer Well he bitched an' bitched An' said please O please Don't do this To sweet ol' Johnny McB But I wouldn't listen No matter what he said I kept on drinkin' 'till I was nearly dead So here I sit by the road Empty bottle on my knee Lookin' f'r 'nother Jus' like ol' Johnny McB |
