Santa Came To Bethlehem ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 Santa came to Bethlehem, following a star that rose. He was merely curious, as it outshined Rudolph's nose. As he drew near to the stable roof, the reindeer were prancing on each little hoof. Down from the sleigh he quickly came ... greeted by three wise men calling his name. He wanted to know what gifts they brought. This was his job, or so he thought ! Entering the stable he stopped in wonder ... at the babe lying in manger in deepest of slumber. Santa fell to his knees in prayer of blessings. He knew who this was ... there was no more guessing. He removed his hat, bowed his balding head ... paid homage to the babe in the manger bed. The babe awoke and smiled his smile. Of dimpled cheek this blessed child. Santa arose from bended knee said, 'This babe, this babe I just had to see.' All the gifts that I might bring pale in comparison to peace bells as they ring. He jumped in his sleigh, new joy as he departed. Away he flew to finish what he started. But, I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight ... 'Happy Birthday Jesus, there's great joy tonight !' ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

WhiteDove - I'm really glad that you found this on Christmas day. Thank you for the lovely compliment. I was inspired by a card I received of Santa kneeling at the manager ... I believe it should be given to every child so that they learn as much about Jesus as they do about Santa. Love to you this wonderful day. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
