who is this woman
who hates you so?
she hates the windows
to your angry soul,
she hates your self taught
need for control.
she hates your fingers
she hates your toes
and especially your mouth
and each and every mean
word that you speak,
and if it is possible
to hate, I mean really hate
someone's guts
well then she hates yours.

who is the woman?
she appears in great distress,
how can I help her, if I know her not?
my mind needs find a place,
her properly filed away space,
but I hardly recognize her
face so contorted by anger
and frustration,
and hate...

I look again for I cannot seem to
leave the pain in her eyes behind,
she reminds me of someone
I knew in my past,
someone who used to love
and smile and cuddle puppies
and suckle her babies...and
a cold reality sets in
and I gasp...
could this woman...
that I can hardly bear to see,
whose pain is felt as if my own
could she.....
              really be me?

remember this...nobody has an unbreakable heart

Wow. Words so powerful. They describe how I think we all feel sometimes.

"I am a stranger now unto myself..."  So many of us hide in the shells that we've become.  It becomes harder and harder with time to see what we truly were.  A thought provoking poem.  One worthy of you.

No it tis not you, you see,
But the you that's been remade by he,
The you that was still is I know,
Because you have a smiling glow,
The she you see is the she that he,
Holds hostage,
But you, you are free...

Your words remind me of times I've seen my grown children act in some way I once did, and the remorse that fills me.  However, it's having been there that bridges an understanding and the powerful urge to help them find a better way.  Thank you.

Hear, Hear! Hope the meeting was as brief as
I suspect it was. All people with high ideals
occasionally fail to live up to them, and
try to improve. The ones to feel sorry for
are those with no ideals.
