These are happy times, I think The holidays are here The family's gathered round the tree And full of love and cheer It's the best time of the year, I think Everybody's home And my heart just beats with happiness Of these treasures all my own And I am very blessed, I think My heart is full of pride For all the labors of my love Are right here by my side My heart is full of joy, I think The wreath is on the door The mistletoe is hanging And presents on the floor And Santa's coming here, I think He'll be here very soon The little ones will be surprised When they see the living room This is the best of times, I think In a very special way Why is it that my thoughts are then A thousand miles away It is an act of God, I think To feel another's pain Would that my prayers comfort him And make the torture wane These are happy times, I think Christmas time is here The joy and sorrow in my heart Are mixed within each tear Elizabeth Santos |

I think it is a blessing to be able to feel other people's emotion too, Elizabeth. I think this forum is another as well as one of the reasone these are "happy times" for me. Lovely poem. Michael |
