Elusive as your yesterday
you search for fallen heart.
Question things that you could say
That wouldn't rip apart,
this soul you've left out on the line
in hopes to find a light.
A single ray of love divine
to last you through the night.
Some days tomorrow seems so vile
you want to end it all.
The road of life with one last mile
your engine starts to stall.
you lie awake at night in tears
and scream into your mind,
with nothing but the lonely years
and dreams you left behind.
Sleep leads you on hour after hour
but doesn’t let you rest,
just lets you think yourself to sour
of things that you detest.
The memories you can not bare
to replay in your head
are all that’s left for you to share
while lying in your bed.
