Flashback
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

The years of my life,
from five to seven,
flashed before me just now.
I didn't always dwell on them
but they've surely been with me somehow.

A little girl in an orphanage placed,
with brothers and sisters apart.
Many nights spent weeping,
as thoughts of them burned in my heart.

A situation, not of our making,
the doting little mother I was.
I remember promising God
that if he let us get out together,
I'd always pledge my love.

It wasn't as elegant as I phrase it now.
It probably went more like this,
God, please give me back my brothers and sisters
and I'll give you a kiss.

Through the years that passed,
the prayers of a young girl were heard.
God placed us back together.
God kept his word.

A father now gone.
A mother passed on too.
One brother and one sister
no longer here.
I clutch the strings of the family
and hold them all so dear.

Thank you, God, for my family,
and for keeping them in my heart.
Family is for holding on ...
when others may depart.

You kept your word.
I've kept mine.
I've sent a kiss your way.
Thank you, my Lord, for reminding me
of those prayers a little girl did say.

Thank you, Eloise.
And it's true.
My family is so important
to me ... God, how I love them.
Much love to you ... ~*Marge*~

Touching, Marge. Very touching. God is great at those flashbacks, isn't he?!

Denise -
Yes, flashbacks bring many thoughts.
Thank you for your thoughts on this one.

Balladeer -
Just the greatest !
Yes, nothing like family,
they are the fabric of love.

Severn -
You are welcome to share my memories
anytime, Kamla.
Love ~Marge(y)~

Michael -
Thank you.  And God bless you
and light your Christmas with
brightness ... much of which
comes from within you.
