                   It's all true

I'm five foot five and have plenty of dash.
A beard, a mustache and a little panache.
I'm broad and full and built like a bull.
But to see me you'd think I was too wistful.

I swam and dove for treasure in the keys.
I've done paintings even a critic would please.
I once played the organ but have forgotten some how.
And now write poetry but will not take no bow.

Flown in a bomber dumped destruction on sod.
Seen mushroom blossoms prayed to God
Cried and pleaded kissed the ground on my knees,
Had a belly full of man and all his deeds.

I'm sorry what I did, I'm sorry for the bombs
I cried and I prayed and had death in my arms.
I've grown tired, quiet, sort of a recluse.
I very rarely talk, for there isn't any use.

I just want to be with myself in peace,
A little bit of quiet, a little surcease.
Bear with me if this poem sounds of rue,
But damn it all, this poem is all true.

So forgive me if at times I shy from the crowd
But for me some times the bombs are too loud.

Seymour~

It's all right if you shy away at times.

God bless.

Well now, looks like we,ve been blessed
With an honest man, whose traits we've guessed
But now the details filter through
And we see our friend in light anew
A man with concience, talent and grace
With aesthetic notions etched on his face
Thank you friend for opening your heart
It is a pleasure to be a tiny part
I'm glad you're writing poetry
If not, this recluse we'd never see
I hope your silence doesn't mean
A halt to the poetry we have seen
Unless, of course you stop to look
Into publication of a book
I enjoyed reading about you, dear friend

I understand, Seymour. And I wish you peace. You are a gentle soul with a tender conscience blaming yourself for things that were not within your control. You did what you had to do. I hope those horrible sounds are replaced with a sweet song of peace thundering in your ears. Forgive yourself and let it go. You will be in my prayers.
I'm so sorry for your pain.

Sy.....nice poem....I'm sure it's true and I know the sadness....and the dreams, that refuse to go away,....."Have ya ever jumped in a large hole full of mud and water and God knows what else, in a three piece suit, (in downtown Atlanta, next to a construction site with a few hundred people and construction workers watching), just cuz a damn truck backfired?.....It's kinda rediculous to some.....understandable by others....

Seymour: Even if this weren't true, it would be an incredible poem, powerful and poignant. Because it does speak the truth, it haunts and pleads for prayers for those haunted by nightmares... Beautiful job... and I will pray your heart finds peace.
