What I Wish Tonight... I wish to describe a scene... A scene where beauty gleams, I wish to converse with the likes of you, amongst the drops of morning dew, I wish to love, to hold, to ask of you... the questions of which you only knew. How does it feel to love so sweet? Does your heart pound, in measured beats, or does it skip with infinite leaps? I wish to know from within your heart, to gather knowledge and never part. What gift God has given me! To speak so clear and ever so free, to express what once was a jumbled mess, pouring forth an idiotic press, How can I fail in my honored quest? To love you, to hold you, to pass your gallant test? What words shall you give, to cherish this night? I give you my dreams, to hold with might, I hope to hear from you this night, to hear the bliss of a lovers light. This is what I wish tonight. Jordan Lake ©1999 |
