This is for the ladies of passion and
especially for elizabeth.

         The wings of essence

They are not really wings you know,
But an essence of your present flow.
Were a little swerve, alerts your nerve
With a little sweep, of mild observe.

Five little gnomes in your mind.
Five little gnomes of human kind.
And each one has its own singularity.
Each one has a special reality.

So don't discard this writing as whim
For it's the gnomes that writes your poem.
And if I were you I'd hug them each night
And love them no matter what they write.

Now there are five and that's no pun
And I'm going to name them one by one.
There is touch, taste, hear, see and smell.
And they all live with you, in dwell.

Now touch loves tender as his sweet.
He shies form hot and too much heat.
He thrives on love and passions stuff.
Of that he cannot get enough.

Now taste is the glutton of the five
He can simply eat you alive.
He tastes every thing he finds in time
He even makes a sandwich of rhyme.

Now hearing, he just likes it mellow
He shies away from scream and bellow.
He likes his hearing a little vexy,
It makes him feel oh so sexy.

Smell, well smell is a delicate fellow
And sometimes that's a peccadillo.
But mostly he hangs among the flowers
Where he spends hours and  hours.

Sight is the daintiest of them all.
He ever depends on his recall.
Of all he's the oddest of the lot
He mostly leans on the physical spots.

Where would we be without these wings
And all the pleasures that they bring.
They live in a fourth dimension
And a source of sore contention.

They feed upon your able of mood
For that is the essence of there food.
They are the platforms of our lives
They even choose our husbands and wives.

Well now I'll let you digest the matter
To think if I am real or the mad hatter?

In a P.S.
I have to mention some distant come,
Sense of humor, Justice and Decorum,
In fact there is no end to the plumb.
But that will play on a future drum.

Sy,
This rhyme did surely make me laugh
For it is a poem and a half
I never knew about the gnomes
I hope they're happy in their home
Now I know that I have five
And they are well and quite alive
But I would say my poet friend
Has gnomes and pixies of no end
There's one who delves into the mind
And picks out any word he finds
And one that breaks the women's hearts
And one who plays a clowning part
And a new one we have seen of late
Who's notions speak of loving mate
And fantsies beyond my experience
Which makes the ladies simply delerious
And we love his poetry much
For a woman he knows how to touch
And that is very rare these days
He writes it all in special ways
Thank you for your inspiration
With your poem I am in high elation!
Love ya,
Liz

Elizabeth,
I loved the answer in your poem,
It makes for a nice epitome.
You asked for it,
and up I sit,
I tried my best,
And finally, finally finished it.
Love Ya
Sy

Sort of like the old saying, "To gnome is to love me". Good thoughts, Sy.

Oh, I liked this so much Sy--so clever of you to use those five senses thus--those knomes are pretty special fellows, as are you.

Sy,
Just a little epitome
About your clever little gnome
He never speaks of neverness
He is the gnome of cleverness
He's ever present , ever wise
Ever opening our eyes
To all the talent you possess
This little gnome of cleverness

Looks lke you met the poetry challenge
Love ya,
Liz
