The housework never seems to end, With clothes to iron and socks to mend. The dust is building up again. No time to even phone a friend. Dishes to wash, another meal to cook. All the rugs have now been shook. Washing and scrubbing every little nook. No time for a magazine or a book. Then out the door with a list of errands. Checking each one off as it gets done. Drive to school to pick up the children. This hectic day has not been fun. Last meal finished, everyone has been fed. One more mend to make, with needle and thread. The kids are at last tucked into bed. Quiet time for me now lies ahead. These next couple of hours are my own. So give me a book or perhaps the phone. Then I'll soak in the tub, and let my mind roam. Just give me my space and leave me alone. |

After a hectic day, busy people like you truly deserve some quiet time! Nail to the mast her holy flag, Set every threadbare sail- And give her to the god of storms, The lightning and the gale! -Oliver Wendell Holmes |

Well said, Eloise. Everyone needs their 'quiet time'. |
