Swedes eat delectable pancakes. The French bake delectable bread. Germans eat sausage for breakfast. The Irish eat oatmeal instead. On some islands, the abundant plantain Is staple, and natives there fry it. The Japanese and Koreans may Omit milk and cheese from their diet; And everyone knows the accounts Of people that live here and there, Who survive on boiledgrasshoppers Or feast on intestines of bear. So what's the right cuisine for us, Whether we're civilized or un, Is just what we've gotten used to, Whatever we've fattened upon. The principle applies universally: When it comes to the right way to live, What's good or bad for for you or me Appears to be relative. |
