A friend's a very precious gift
Sent by God up above-
Someone to laugh and cry with
That you will always love.
My friend, I can't put into words
Just what you mean to me.
No matter what will happen
My friend you'll always be!

***sorry it's so terse!***

Nail to the mast her holy flag,
Set every threadbare sail-
And give her to the god of storms,
The lightning and the gale!
-Oliver Wendell Holmes

You don't have to apologize! I like it just the way it is--short and sweet and to the point!

Sweet poem
And that says it all!
Can I be your friend?

Of course, Liz, I'd be honored! Can I be yours?

Elizabeth -

In reading through this poem,
I did not find it terse.
The very thought of
NOT having a friend ...
now that would be worse !

What a lucky friend
to have received these thoughts from you.
I'd say you put it into very nice words, indeed.
