Simpering little females how I despise them, The ones that are hurt so easily, Almost not human they are so fragile, I was once that way but swore I'd never be again you see. But only fairly recently, I became that which I despise, A woman full of weakness, A woman with tears in her eyes. I didn't want it to happen, I'm too strong to feel this way, But baby my hopes were shredded, I lost the sunshine in my day. For two days I was down and weak, Spreading dampness everywhere, But rest assured I have recovered, For I know that you still care. I'd rather have your friendship, Than to not know you at all, So I hope you are still listening, And will be there when I call.... What the inner voice says will NOT disappoint the hoping soul. ~Isis~ (Daughter of Mystery) |

Theres a few simpering males out there too, you know? Too often our "need" overcomes us and we do become what we despise. If you look for happiness in yourself, you'll never be disappointed that another didn't bring some to you. Michael |

I shall probably regret this but...I can always delete it, can't I?.. I just said to a friend, why can't I have my sense of pride?..Why when a door shuts quietly on behalf of someone who cares less than they did, the person who still cares, hears it slamming....yet I'm glad after all the knocks, I do still care. Very well written, such a shame we have to hide though...love is every bit as powerful as the sadness that follows that same closing of the door that once opened with honour.... Isis-- I like this poem...as I do all the others. You expressed so much emotion in this one...it's as if all of our emotions mixed into this one poem...i'm liken this one, Isis! Probably just a reiteration of what was said before but I really believe showing tears and pain takes a lot of strength. Feeling things can be hard! Lovely poem Isis. K |

This one is a keeper, Isis. As Michael said, simpering is not a gender thing and it can strike without warning. Overcoming it and maintaining your balance.....ah, that's the trick. Easier said than done, I know, but it can be done...as it appears to have been by you. |

I like this one and the message is very timely! I absolutely refuse to let anyone see/hear me cry. I will put on a stoic granite face and use my 'work' voice just to keep someone from seeing how I am hurt. Thank you..... [This message has been edited by Poet deVine (edited 12-17-1999).] |
