Remember the quiet moments we spent together?
Those moments that we spent hand-in-hand or
     arm-in-arm alone?
I hoped that those moments would last forever.
Though they've passed,
They're always with me, no matter how far I roam.

The quiet moments
When all that mattered was our love.
The quiet moments
When we shared that love.

The quiet moments
As you lay next to me, our hearts the only sound.
The quiet moments
When no one else was around.

The quiet moments
When we told each other our hopes and fears.
The quiet moments
When we held each other, to comfort the tears.

Yes, I remember the quiet moments.
And as I spend this quiet moment alone,
I wish you were here to spend it with me,
So I wouldn't be alone.

Sven,
All of your poems seem to be about waiting to be reunited with someone you love. That is very sad
But I enjoy reading them. They are beautiful, and you seem like a very loving person

Sven - I have to agree with Liz. Your work is lovely and so sad. This was no exception.

Lovely my friend, why are they sad.  You have some things to be happy about, I know.
   Great work as always..

"Longing" is a good word to describe your writing...It is all so eloquently written....I am glad too, to see you cherish the small moments....Those are sometimes the forgotten ones, however the most precious.  Thank you for sharing this wonderfully intimate piece...

Thank you all. . .

Your words do mean a lot. . .

I wrote this poem many years ago, when I was 19. . . I was in the middle of my first true love affair. . . it was long distance, and sometimes it was more than I could bear. . . "The Bridge Across Forever" is another work from this time. . . there are other poems from this time in Dark Passions, for every first love must end sometime. . .

I put them all together into a "Collection" called "The Lantern Bearers". . . it is work that I have never shared with anyone, save the woman in the poems. . . but I now share it with you. . . thank you all for accepting it and for your words, because of you, I can now share my gift with the world.

Sometimes moments are all we have left of someone, but what moments they may be...sounds like yours were lovely...
