What Have I Missed? A doe had her fawns to sit in stillness as I passed And quickly the two lowered themselves in camouflaging mask My wandering eye could barely spot them again on forest floor It makes me wonder how many unseen fawns I've passed before It makes me wonder how many times I've missed the butterfly How many times I've let a precious moment slip on by With time so short, I wonder how many sunsets I have missed It makes me sadly think of how many times I could have kissed Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 12-16-1999).] |

Thoughtfully put! How much do we take for granted in our emotional laziness? Poetess you play upon my heartstrings today. Dare I wonder if another is waiting in the wings? |

I agree with you, sometimes we need to as the old adage goes "Stop and smell the roses" |

Rob, You must be in a romantic mood this morning. I see you posting to all the love poetry! No, I don't have anything up my sleeve. I wrote this one as I was posting it. Thank you for your kind comments Liz Ruth, I've walked many a trail in the woods of Pa and believe me, I take it all in. It's so beautiful, isn't it? The part about the fawns is true. Your Heart His Hands hold... Like a crystal "ball" In humbleness your hands you fold... Words flow forth, they tell it all.. God bless--flowing waters never gather moss! James David |

Thanks to all. You know, these poems get pushed back so fast, I feel that I miss some of them and also miss those who have commented. I finally read all of your remarks and I thank you. Liz |
