                 "THE HARDEST THING"

   The hardest thing i've had to do.
   Is lie and tell myself i don't love you.
   It's looking you in the eyes.
   And saying good-bye.
   It's looking at your picture everyday.
   And knowing that you're so far away.
   It's hard knowing that your letters weren't true.
   And trying to figure out why i still love you.
   The hardest thing is saying that it was really a
     game.
   When in my heart i know that i loved you in
     every way.
   It's hard letting you free.
   Knowing you deserve better than me.
   Knowing we weren't meant to be.
   And knowing you were just a fantasy.

I like this. It brings out both the true love of accepting, as well as the hurt of our dashed dream.

Any kind of lie is difficult. But those to yourself are the worst.But the truth can sometimes be hard to bear. This is so sad a poem. But well stated.

Oh, so sad, but so true to its words. Such a perfect title also for a such a heartfelt and wonderful poem. I feel as though I can relate, thanx for the great read Unloved...
