Whatever I say
I usually hope I mean
I don't mean the words
said in anger
with such disillusionment
in my eyes
but the words
that speak of friendship
trust and caring
seeing and listening
beyond the words
Words are only ever words
but how they are portrayed
is what is remembered
a thousand people can say
"I love you" or "You're my friend"
both are a commitment
and words
shadow the trust
follow the integrity
smile with knowledge
of something
deeper
than simple words
but only when you respect
each other's values
will your voice
speak the truth ...

Yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream...
