I wished you were here
Whenever I cry.
Hold me in your arms,
And tell me everything's fine.

I wished you were here
When I needed a friend.
To lend me a listening ear
And just hold my hand.

I wished you were here
Whenever it snows,
Take me in your embrace,
Protect me from the cold.

I wished you were here,
Now right by my side.
And tell me that you'd stay forever,
not just for the night.

I can relate to the "Whenver it snows" part. It was terrible last night, snow, 70mph wind and no power for 9 hrs. Glad I had my woodstove's!
