A Memory Or Two
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

When you left this heart of mine,
you left a memory or two.
They're stored away in a corner
I've tried not to go to.

Today I stumbled into that corner
and I was surprised to find ...
the memories as still as fresh
as the day you left them behind.

I can't imagine how they survived.
I did not tend them well.
It simply amazed me to see
that in the corner, they still dwelled.

Timidly I began to plunder
trying to recall ...
if I'd ever found closure
in these memories at all.

Dusting them off,
I remembered, oh too well,
the reasons that I stored them
in a box labeled,
'Love That Hurt Like Hell'.

So many things confused me.
I thought the memories were done.
With heartfelt emotion I visited
each and every one.

It really did surprise me
to find good memories in this place.
The memories not flooded with tears,
put a smile upon my face.

They no longer hurt,
I am keeping them still.
But now the box is re-labeled
'Love, I Remember You Well.'

Don't memories just have a life of their very own!? Very nice work Marge.

I have found that just the passing of time is enough to change my attitude. Very nice!
