I've been through struggles; I've dealt with strife.
I can bend but not break and go on with my life.
I can fall and yet somehow through grief and pain
Pick myself up and stand tall once again.
But I'm not invincible... I can cower and cry
Unable to find strength for just one more try.
And that's when I need you to stand by my side,
A loving refuge for my tired soul to hide.
Be someone to lean on; Don't think that I'm wrong
For yielding to weakness. Your strength makes me strong.
Most times I can face anyone, anything.
But sometimes like right now I just need to cling.

Oh no, you're not wrong suthern. We do find strength through others and there's nothing wrong with a good cry either. Very nice work from you, as always!

Suthern,
I have a strong right arm that's mine.
I wouldn't mind a pretty clinging vine.

Suthern, to me one of the greatest aspects of human nature is to be able to lean on others, and to be leaned upon. Wonderful poem.

I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

Great poem! And there's nothing wrong with being clingy! But when you feel you can't, please send me an e-mail...I'll commiserate with you!

Suthern Belle, I've got the static if you've got the cling!

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

Between domain security warnings and having to turn off all graphics just to load the forum, accessing from home since the updates has been a nightmare... which is why I'm pretty silent outside working hours these days. *S*

But your kind responses make me very glad I made the effort this afternoon... thank you all so very much! PDV and Caroline, I may take you up on those offers! *G* And Andrew and Balladeer, thanks for the grins!
