Am I who you thought I'd be?
For you've brought out the hidden me.
I kept things locked inside myself.
And placed my heart upon a shelf.

Then one day into my life you came.
And my heart you did quickly claim.
For twenty five years you have been by my side.
And in this heart you will always reside.

We laughed, we smiled, we shared.
We loved, we cried, we cared.
To each other we had to adjust.
But most important we had trust.

Your gentle disposition is one of the best.
To live this long with me, you surely passed the test.
When I go off on a tangent and rant and rave.
You sit back and chuckle, brush it off with a wave.

Your loving spirit is warm and kind.
A real treasure in you, I did find.
We have lived and loved together for so long.
And with each other is where we will always belong.

-----------

This was written for a very special person - my husband, my best friend Patrick

'my husband - my best friend'....when those two comments lay side by side, you are blessed. Congrats to you both.

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

Betty -  It's pretty obvious that Patrick is a very lucky man ... and knows it !
Nicely put.

WOW! This was really touching. What a blessing it is indeed to have a relationship like that.
