Lost in the mist of his presence
Hanging on his every move

Listening to the sweetest sound
of his breathless sleep

Waiting, waiting for him
to come back to me

I remember running to his side
knowing he will be there forever

My kisses were like medicine
so he said, giving him his strength

So bright and early
beautiful sunshine rays bursting through

I ran to his side,looking at him for
the last time

Wishing he would come back to me
looked in the heavenly sky and said my last words

I said “Good bye, Daddy”

This is a sad one. I was expecting a boyfriend or something. It hold the beauty as well. He is in a better place and watching over you I'm sure!

I agree with both of the above. This is a beautiful poem, Candace. I too expected a boyfriend at the end. Very nice and very sad.

Candace, this is very pretty. Yeah, it's sad, but under the sadness there is a very deep beauty.
