Lithe and Lovely with Belonging

The wind muscles into midday.
tossing the trees awry
cleaning the line across the mountain
bluing and greening as it goes

I listen to the song
along the pine tree
like a holy tenor
with chorus flowing invisible
robes down the pass

The wind picks up my song
and swings it to the sky
across clearness of day
I see a city
outlined against the sun’s decent

The tumble weed follows
the sweep of the road
into a tizzy
capturing a feeling
thought of long ago

From this hill I can see
that far island
hump back sea creature
Catalina domesticus
where golden fish play
in pristine pools of kelp
in a silver sea

In the room of afterglow
I hover into the chill of night
crystal with the meaning of life
torrid with the harth’s fire
lithe and lovely with belonging

Smooth and flowing as always, Martie. You don't miss a beat.

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

Martie - would you like to provide me with an oxygen mask because you leave me quite breathless with your work, my friend!

Your poem carries me away... I especially enjoyed "in pristine pools of kelp in a silver sea" - absolutely beautiful. I can see it!
