The Light Of Life by ãRichard Budig 1996 Each year we gather ‘round this table, Laden with the bounty of our love and labor, We ring it in a human chain As we raise our voices in prayer Heavenly Father we gather this day To welcome anew Your only son And to beseech Your blessing Upon us, each and every one Into Your hands we place our trust, And unto You we make this promise That the flame of this joyful birth Will light the darkest corner in each of us The world, Lord, lies in blight, And everywhere is trouble and strife, But through this precious gift You have given us the light of life And so, as we gather at this table, heavy with the harvest of our hands, We praise You most sweetly For this gift -- so tiny, yet so grand. |
