Like standing at a crosswalk And staring at the lights.. One says, Go Straight, one says, Go left- The other’s pointing right. I find that mass confusion- Runs rampant all around And leaves me in the maelstrom, Not knowing where I’m bound. Red light means “Come to a halt”. Green means go ahead- I’ve found the yellow caution light To be the one I dread. On green a man is fairly safe, He does not fear to go... In stopping, there’s protection From oncoming cars I know. The yellow one’s the one I fear... With it’s myopic stare- It seems to mockingly exclaim- Press onward.... if you dare! I hate those yellow signals- For I know what they’re about... They never seems decisive But indicate much doubt. It seems my life’s whole journey Whether wrong or right- Has been a long procession Of those yellow caution lights. |

I know what you mean Gunslinger--green and red are so sure, the questionable yellow....well, wait--even if your late. |
